Travel and Accommodation
If you are travelling down by train, there are frequent trains from London Paddington to Penzance. The closest stations to our church and venue are St Austell or Truro. We recommend St Austell as it makes your time on the train 15 minutes shorter.
If you are driving, we recommend taking the A303 route rather than the M4/M5 (though please do check this on the day!). Come off the A30 at the exit for Grampound Road , otherwise your sat nav may try and take you through Truro which takes longer.
We would recommend staying in Portscatho or St Mawes as these are the closest villages to the venue. There are also some lovely Air BnBs in the area however several of them do require a 4 night minimum stay. Please just ask us if you need any more info or help with booking!
We hugely appreciate that Cornwall is a long way to travel for most of our friends and family, but hope you will love it here as much as we do.
The Plume of Feathers
A great little Cornish pub and B&B in Portscatho, a small coastal village which is a 10 minute drive to the church and to the reception venue.
The Rising Sun
A lovely hotel overlooking the harbour in St Mawes. A 7 minute drive to the church and 20 minutes to the venue.
St Mawes Hotel
A beautiful hotel overlooking the sea in the centre of St Mawes. A 7 minute drive to the church and 20 minutes to the reception venue.
Nearwater
A lovely B&B owned by our friends, Tim and Amelia. St Mawes is a beautiful coastal village with lots to do - Nearwater is a 5 minute drive to the church and a 20 minute drive to the venue.
The Rosevine
15 self-contained apartments just outside of Portscatho with beautiful sea views. A 10 minute drive to the church and just over 15 minutes to the venue.
The Ship and Castle
Hotel overlooking the sea in the centre of St Mawes. Cheap and cheerful!
A 7 minute drive to the church and 20 minutes to the reception venue.
